A message from the Board of Directors of the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Association:

As 2016 comes to an end, the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Association is once again grateful to all those who support us in helping the community. This year, the BVFA donated $16,650 to non-profit, community organizations such as the Bartlett Library District Foundation, the local food pantry, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, the Bartlett Veterans Memorial Foundation, the Bartlett Historical Society and the Bartlett Heritage Days, just to name a few.

The BVFA also waived hall rental fees of the Fire Barn for 42 non-profit or charity events in 2016.

Thank you to everyone that attended our first annual Ham Raffle, the 57th Annual Turkey Raffle and those individuals and groups that patronized the Fire Barn for party and meeting rentals.

The Bartlett Volunteer Fire Association is a not-for-profit organization that has been putting the needs of the community first for 118 years.  Started by a group of 26 men on December 22, 1897 to serve the community as a volunteer firefighting force the organization did just that for many years.  Firefighting duties ceased as the Bartlett Fire Protection District began to increase its tax levy and moved to a primarily full-time force in the mid 2000’s.  The Fire District broke off its formal relationship with the organization in 2008.

Today the spirit of community service that burned in those 26 men is kept alive by the members of the organization who have stopped fighting fires, but not stopped serving the community or the volunteer fire service at large.

All funds raised by the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Association go towards the operation and improvements of the Fire Barn, grants to support various community projects, and to volunteer fire departments to keep the tradition of community based fire and rescue services alive.
